Only By The Grace Of God

I feel during my journey through battling cancer I have been very quiet, because that is what God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, always whispered in my ear, "Be Still." I prefer to keep to myself when I go through the best storms, so I can hear God, and I can be led by His Spirit of love, comfort, and security. Thankfully I have been able to paint on my good days, and there were actually a lot of good days!

But there were those times I didn't know how I was going to make it. But I can honestly say that the only time I felt really good was when I was leaning whole heartedly on God. Reading His word, writing what I heard Him say to me, writing down what He led me to read. Or even the many sermons available on You Tube. Random ones would pop up on my phone, and I knew in my heart that it was meant for me to hear. I can gratefully say that as of my last bloodwork I am normal! I am healed. And so many ask, how when this is supposedly an incurable cancer. First of all, I knew from day 1 that God said to be that I will be healed and I will be whole. I was not sure what Whole meant.  I do now. I live with forgiveness, I live with acceptance, and I remain in love towards all. Those who have hurt me, no longer have that over me. This is one of the most common problems in life that we can not forgive those who have hurt you. It is possible and you can accept and love them for who they are.

I attend a Bible Study at St. Andrews (in the Old Village) with Joanne Ellison as the director and founder of Draw Near to God. There are about 300 woman who meet every Thursday. I thankfully was told about this group before I started chemo again June of 2023. They literally not only lift me in prayers, but were able to visit me, give me hope and joy as I went through the worst 8 months of my life. Without them, I don't know how I would have made it. In October 2023, I changed oncologist and was able to decrease the side effects, Thank God!! They were still bad but not nearly as bad as the past. I was able to paint again! I was told by my new oncologist that he could pull my numbers down some, hopefully to 100, (they were around 230, normal is 15 to 20)but I would need medication the rest of my life. I told him that was not good enough and I was going to be healed! LOL! Little did I know that God was at work, weaving His tapestry, I, as always,  was just along for the ride...

A month later Joanne walked into our bible study and so graciously asked me if she could pray over me. I was thrilled, of course. She and Allie placed hands on me to pray. I was so grateful, but others had prayed over me many times like this. Always, I never take it for granted and I am always so grateful. The next day I went in for my bloodwork which takes a week. I returned in a week, and if you could have seen my oncologist face when he opened the results! :))) My points had dropped from 230 to 30! The following month was 25, the following month was 19, the following month was 14 and today I am holding at 16! (Once again, normal is 15 to 30) Yes, by the blessings of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and God, I am healed. I will not look back in disbelief for He told me the first day. I asked Him many times to not only heal me but to make it so obvious the He did it! I still listen to my oncologist, I respect him to the moon and back, and he laughingly said "you are cured." Whether he meant it or not, LOL, I don't care! I know I am being held closely by our Lord, and He hears our prayers and He is with us every step of the way!
